Business Broadband from IP Telecom gives your business access to a purely business-to-business focused network, designed with the needs of Irish companies, from SME to Enterprise, in mind.

Unlike other networks, IP Telecom’s Business Broadband is business-only, meaning that we can offer businesses a connection that isn’t impacted by consumer-driven usage such as streaming meaning that our network has lower contention levels.

Furthermore, our Dublin-based support team is also strictly business-only, so if there is an issue, you’ll get through to our support team without having to contend with consumers on the line.

IP Telecom’s Business Broadband is designed specifically for Irish businesses, rather than being a consumer broadband service adapted for business use.

We combine our own network, across Dual INEX Data Centres, with Open eir, SIRO and National Broadband Ireland (NBI) fibre infrastructure to provide broad geographical coverage and a business-focused, low-contention service.

You also get Irish-based support, proactive network monitoring and the option to combine your broadband and business phone services with IP Telecom.

Business connectivity needs to support more than web browsing and streaming.

Your broadband connection may be carrying:

  • Business phone calls
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Cloud applications
  • CRM systems
  • Online payments
  • Video conferencing
  • File transfers
  • Security systems
  • Remote workers

IP Telecom's Business Broadband operates on an uncontended B2B network, meaning business traffic isn't competing with household users for the same service capacity.

At IP Telecom we offer standard broadband connections of up to 1Gbps, subject to availability at your business location. The fastest available speed for your premises will depend on the underlying fibre network available there. When a fibre connection isn’t currently available for your business, we can get you connected to the fibre network (subject to availability checks) and replace Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) connections where necessary.

Yes. IP Telecom's broadband is designed to work particularly well with our hosted business phone systems.

In fact, when combined with IP Telecom's hosted PBX, our broadband service supports HD voice (giving you the highest possible call quality) and our brilliant business calling features.

This makes it possible to manage your connectivity and business telephony through one provider. Allowing us to optimise our service to deliver the most benefits to you.

Yes, absolutely.

One of the advantages of combining the services is having a single provider and single point of billing for your broadband and business voice services.

This can simplify account management and make it easier to identify whether an issue is related to connectivity or telephony. Plus, it allows us to optimise our service to deliver the most benefits to you.

Not necessarily. At IP Telecom we don’t believe in throwing out perfectly good tech – if it’s compatible then why throw it out - good for your bottom line and good for sustainability.

One of our key benefits is the ability to bridge to existing routers and infrastructure, meaning you may be able to retain working equipment rather than replacing it unnecessarily.

This helps make the transition simpler and potentially reduce the disruption and cost associated with changing broadband providers.

IP Telecom prides itself in minimising any interruption to service. Our testing and set up gives us the ability to bridge to existing routers and infrastructure with little or no downtime and without having to replace working technology.

The precise migration process will depend on your existing connection and infrastructure, so at IP Telecom we will take the time to assess your requirements before the changeover.

When it comes to existing routers, in many cases, yes.

We can usually work with your existing routers and infrastructure rather than automatically requiring you to replace equipment that is already working.

This is particularly useful for businesses with established networks, managed firewalls, Wi-Fi systems or other specialist equipment. Our team can also advise on any changes necessary to facilitate these existing pieces of IT infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition to our broadband service.

Yes. IP Telecom's Business Broadband includes unlimited business data usage*. Yes, we do have fair usage, but that’s at a level in excess of 99% of standard business use. And, if you have exceptionally heavy data use, our Dedicated Internet Access products may be more suitable for your type of business.

All in all this means businesses don't need to worry about managing their usage around a monthly data allowance.

Yes, where possible our network connections are proactively monitored, allowing the team to identify issues before they impact customers where possible.

Our dedicated broadband support team monitors network uptime on a 24/7 basis, ensuring that your business is up and online, whenever you need it.

IP Telecom offers superb geographical coverage using a combination of our network, Openeir, SIRO and NBI infrastructure.

Availability and maximum speeds depend on your specific business address. Why not contact us today and see what we can do for you.

The simplest approach is to provide IP Telecom with your business address or Eircode via the contact us form. We can then check the available connectivity options and determine the best service for your location.

If you have additional requirements for your business broadband such as 4G/5G Failover please include this in the comments section of the form – this allows us to come back to you with a range of solutions to suit your business need.

Yes. IP Telecom's wider connectivity portfolio is designed to support businesses with multiple locations, with options ranging from Business Broadband through to Dedicated Internet Access for organisations with more demanding connectivity requirements.

For businesses operating several offices, branches or sites, we can assess the connectivity requirements across the organisation rather than treating every location independently. If those locations have separate contracts with existing suppliers, many of our multi-site customers have chosen to switch those locations over time to IP Telecom’s service. We can work with you to schedule the switchover across multiple premises according to your schedule.

If internet access is critical to your operation, standard Business Broadband may not be sufficient on its own.

To ensure the ultimate in uptime IP Telecom also offers Dedicated Internet Access, with features including guaranteed bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, enterprise-grade SLAs, static IP addresses and 4G/5G failover options.

A connectivity assessment can establish whether your business would benefit from a more resilient solution. Start your assessment today by filling in the contact us form

Yes. For businesses where an internet outage could result in significant lost productivity, missed calls or lost sales, IP Telecom can incorporate 5G failover into appropriate connectivity solutions.

Our objective is to keep your critical business services fully connected if the primary connection fails.

If your business phone system uses VoIP, connectivity is an important part of your telephony infrastructure.

That's why businesses should consider what happens if their primary broadband connection fails. A resilient connectivity strategy can include backup connectivity such as 5G failover, which IP Telecom can also provide.

This is particularly important for businesses that rely heavily on telephone enquiries, customer service or sales calls.

We also recommend that businesses using our hosted phone solutions – such as Essentials – use our Linkphone softphone client that turns any smartphone into your deskphone. Calls will continue to flow as normal even if there’s an outage.

Yes. IP Telecom offers connectivity solutions beyond basic broadband, including Managed Wi-Fi.

This can be particularly useful for businesses that need reliable wireless connectivity across offices, customer areas, multiple floors or larger premises.

Yes. IP Telecom's broadband can be used alongside Microsoft Teams, and IP Telecom also offers Microsoft Teams integrated solutions that connect Teams with its business telephony platform.

This allows businesses to combine collaboration, messaging and external business calling.

Yes. Modern businesses depend on cloud-based applications for everything from email and document management to CRM, accounting, collaboration and business management.

IP Telecom's business-focused connectivity is designed to provide the reliable internet access these applications require.

For particularly demanding or mission-critical cloud environments, Dedicated Internet Access may be more appropriate.

Contention refers to how many users share the capacity of a network.

IP Telecom operates its own Tier 1 for business-only network, across two Irish-based data centres. Because you’re not competing with consumer or international traffic, our  Business Broadband has low contention across our uncontended B2B network.

In practical terms, the aim is to provide businesses with a more consistent connectivity experience than a service designed primarily around residential usage.

IP Telecom's Business Broadband is designed specifically around business requirements and includes proactive connection monitoring, dedicated Irish-based support and connectivity through its network infrastructure.

For businesses requiring higher levels of guaranteed performance and resilience, IP Telecom also provides specialist connections such as Dedicated Internet Access and 4G/5G Failover options.

Moving to IP Telecom is as straightforward a process as possible.

Firstly, get in touch with the team via the Contact Us form with your business address/Eircode and any relevant details of your current broadband service.

We can then establish with you:

  1. What connectivity is available at your premises
  2. What’s the best speed you can receive
  3. Whether your existing router can be retained
  4. What way to best optimise your broadband (e.g. are you data or calling-heavy)
  5. Whether your business phone system needs to be considered
  6. Whether you require additional resilience or backup connectivity

From there, we can recommend the most appropriate solution and manage the transition across to our network at a suitable timeline for your business.

No. Don't cancel your existing service before your new connection has been planned. Even with the best-made plans, something can always go awry, particularly if new cabling is involved (blocked ducts etc).

Your migration should be coordinated with your existing provider to minimise disruption and avoid inadvertently disconnecting services before the new connection is ready.

We’ll work with you and your existing provider to ensure that the migration runs as smoothly as possible.

The timeframe depends on the type of connection available at your premises, whether new infrastructure is required and the complexity of your existing setup.

The first step is therefore an availability and requirements check rather than assuming that every business migration will take the same amount of time.

Every business has different needs, every address has different availability – at IP Telecom we’ll take the time to make sure that what we deliver for your business is built and optimised for your needs.

Hopefully, yes.

At IP Telecom we don’t believe in throwing out perfectly good tech, if it’s suitable for reuse – good for your bottom line and the environment. We support bridging to existing routers and infrastructure, allowing businesses to retain working technology where appropriate.

We’ll discuss your current setup during the initial assessment, particularly if your IT team manages your network or firewall, ensuring everyone is in alignment before the switch.

Yes, and for many businesses this can make sense.

Because IP Telecom provides both Business Broadband and hosted business phone systems, the two services can be designed and optimised to work together.

With IP Telecom providing both services not only can offer you a single provider, single billing relationship and a more joined-up approach to connectivity and communications, but as a dedicated business-only service, with Dublin-based support, we’ll take good care of you post-installation.

To start the process, fill in the contact us form where you can provide information such as:

  • Business name
  • Business address
  • Eircode
  • Current broadband provider
  • Current connection type, if known
  • Number of employees/users
  • Any specific connectivity requirements

The more information available, the easier it is to determine the appropriate solution. We’ll then call you at a time that suits you to discuss further your business needs and what we can provide you with.

Yes. You don't need to be a telecoms expert. The initial assessment can establish what connectivity is available at your premises and what options make sense for your business.

IP Telecom will coordinate the installation or migration process and provide the relevant service details.

Where existing infrastructure can be retained, the transition can be simplified by bridging to the existing router and network.

Your exact installation process will depend on your premises and chosen service.

Large providers can offer extensive networks and business broadband products, but at IP Telecom, we truly understand the needs of Irish business. We believe that all businesses have unique needs and we’ll take the time to ensure that the solution we off you is focused on optimising your business communications and connectivity when working together.
