This International Women’s Day, we at IP Telecom came together to celebrate the global theme of ‘Accelerate Action’, a call to actively build a gender-equal world. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where differences are valued and celebrated.
This year, we partnered with Women in Research Ireland (WIRI), an organisation supporting women, nonbinary, trans, and underrepresented groups in research. We were thrilled to host Eva Woods, WIRI's Director, who discussed the charity's mission and her own personal journey. The session highlighted the importance of advocating for these groups in academia. WIRI continues to create valuable spaces where individuals can connect, share experiences, and build a strong community within the research and academy sectors.
To support this wonderful cause, we organised a fundraising initiative and are proud to announce that we’ve raised over €1,750 for WIRI, with an incredible €1,520 coming directly from employee donations through company-led raffles and prizes. But we’re not stopping there, our fundraiser is still ongoing, and we’d love your support to help us reach our new goal of €2,000. Every contribution makes a difference! In addition to our fundraiser, we launched an exciting cycling challenge. Since Monday, our team has been virtually cycling the distance from Trinity College Dublin to Galway University, and what started as a goal of 220km quickly turned into 299.3km of cycling as our team got excited to hop on the bikes and cycle for a good cause.
