Welcome to the next instalment of our At Home With series, where we introduce you to some of the team at IP Telecom and offer insights into their world (working from home).
At IP Telecom, we have maintained our company culture and team spirit. We achieved this by drinking from our fountain of innovative solutions while using the suite of products available to us to connect with our customers, and staff, to achieve results.
This week, we met with IP Telecom's Training Manager, Wendy. Wendy delivers training to new customers during the onboarding phase of their project and provides support to current customers when they need a refresher on their communications solutions set-up. Wendy's training support is an essential piece of our partnership programmes. IP Telecom Partners are highly-dependent on Wendy's expertise to fully deliver IP Telecom's product suite to their customers.
As IP Telecom begin to expand to new markets, Wendy is an invaluable asset, bringing in her wealth of experience, working in different continents, delivering training programmes to multi-nationals, at a global scale.
Adopting new tech doesn't have to be a daunting process. Wendy shares with us how she delivers her intuitive training, ensuring customers and partners alike have the required knowledge to self-manage their communications solutions.
What is your role at IP Telecom?
Training Manager
What drew you to IP Telecom originally? And how has IP Telecom changed since?
I was drawn to IP Telecom as they are a leading provider of VOIP solutions. The design of the Hosted PBX is really user friendly and can be accessed from anywhere. And since I have been at IP Telecom, I've seen the company has grow, in staff, customers and products - which is always positive.
Give me 3 words to describe IP Telecom?
Caring, dedicated and exciting
What do you like most about IP Telecom? What has been your favourite project at IP Telecom?
I love the way all the staff members are enthusiastic to assist customers and each other. My favourite project would have to have been the introduction of IP Telecom to the South African market. As I am South African, it felt like I was back home. We did a roll-out, where I trained Partners on our Hosted platform. They were excited and ready to get onboard.
What is the best thing about working for IP Telecom?
The ability to feel part of a working family, to have support and to be able to put forward my ideas and have them taken seriously.
What is your proudest moment at IP Telecom?
My proudest moments are when customers or partners give me feedback on how well they enjoyed the training.
Your favourite band or musical act
I have a wide range of music I like to listen to. I guess it depends on my mood. It could be rock, opera, Afrikaans music or anything with a good beat and where you can hear the words.
Describe what you were like at age 10.Now that was sometime ago. I can remember watching Grease the movie 10 times in one weekend. I loved to go ice skating, swimming, and riding my bike. My dad used to take us fishing every month. I can say, that was not my cuppa tea, out in the bush with no amenities.
Do you have a favourite quote?
“If you can dream it, you can do it”, and one of my mother’s favourite saying when I was undecisive about doing something is: “if you don’t know what to do, don’t do it.”
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
Ant spray, my bed, and a book on how to survive living on an Island.
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
I get knocked down, but I get up again
Give me 3 words to best describe you:
Positive, calm, helpful
You're going to write a book about IP Telecom, what would the title be?
The Best of The Best.
