Who We Are

Shena co-founded IP Telecom and now serves as CEO. Shena has nearly 30 years’ experience in the European telecommunications industry and is committed to ensuring IP Telecom users receive excellent call quality, outstanding customer service and helpful technical consultancy at all times. Her background in network engineering includes designing and managing multinational networks, establishing technical specifications for developing products and more key experience that puts her at the forefront of telecoms technology.

Brian is the founder of IP Telecom. With 20 years’ experience in systems design & implementation, software development and project management, Brian has overall responsibility for the design and maintenance of the IP Telecom client network. This work involves managing a team of software developers and network engineers on a day-to-day basis and overseeing the overall IP Telecom development road map.

Previously, Brian worked as a software developer in Ireland and the UK, beginning his work with open-source telephony in 2004. In 2006 Brian successfully rolled out a large VoIP solution to one of the largest ISPs in Ireland, marking one of the largest early installations of this kind. Between 2007 and 2010 Brian worked as a technical consultant on large enterprise VoIP rollouts for early adopters, breaking fresh ground for Irish firms by building scalable fault-tolerant telephony systems. 

David MacNeaney joined IP Telecom in October 2017 as Financial Controller. He is an experienced Finance Director who has worked for several companies in both CEO/MD and Finance Director roles.

He has over 22 years of experience in managing his own businesses. David‘s primary role is to ensure the business adheres to budgets and that both revenue and expenditure are coming in on the target.

The provision of timely, relevant and accurate financial information is also a key component of his role. David joined the Board of IP Telecom in September 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Teesside and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from UCD's Michael Smurfit School of Business. He is married with two children.

Robin’s career in the telecommunications industry has spanned some 30 years, with a career starting in technical and development roles at Inter-Tel and early VoIP products through to commercial and senior management roles latterly with Xarios Technologies, providing analytics and OEM solutions, counting Mitel as one of their largest clients. With experience gained working in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia Robin will bring a new dynamic and set of ideas on how IP Telecom can continue to support its customers and partner network with innovative and industry-leading services.

Rory Whelan is IP Telecom’s Head of Marketing, joining the company in late 2019. He is responsible for our overall go to market strategies and increasing awareness of IP Telecom’s products and solutions in Ireland. 

A passionate believer in how technology can empower businesses and individuals to work more productively and sustainably. Prior to joining IP Telecom, Rory led for eight years the rollout of virtual landline and micro-PBX solutions throughout multiple territories in EMEA. He brings 20 years’ experience in B2B and B2C marketing to our team, across Irish media (including RTÉ and TV3) as well as corporate consultancy firms Arthur Andersen and KPMG. 

Joe serves as Financial Manager and is responsible for providing the financial guidance and support that helps our management make sound business decisions. He is also responsible for the collection and preparation of accounts. 

His accomplishments include implementing a new management accounts system that has prepared IP Telecom for more growth. With a positive outlook in life, he believes that nothing is impossible and there is no such thing as a problem that you can't solve. As a keen runner, he’s taken part in numerous marathons and ultra marathons.

Dermot joined IP Telecom in December 2019 as NOC Manager and is responsible for ensuring IP Telecom's infrastructure is fully operational. His team manage the network, servers, databases and software services that underpin our service. With over 20 years of experience of running infrastructure, Dermot loves the challenge of automating the deployment and monitoring of complex environments. Prior to joining IP Telecom, Dermot built a wide range of IT systems in academia and research, including data repositories, 3D visualisation environments, and parallel computing platforms. He also participated in national and international working groups on digital preservation and data management. In his spare time, Dermot enjoys singing Bach with his choir and cycling with his two children.

Mario is Lead Software Developer, responsible for implementing new product features and extending and maintaining existing software products. He feels especially accomplished when the software he implements satisfies IP Telecom’s customers or improves his team’s productivity.

He also enjoys solving problems and building new software solutions from the ground up, while focusing on architecture and optimisation. Outside of working hours, he manages crypto assets, plays basketball and spends time with his family.

Chris serves as IP Telecom’s sales manager and has been instrumental in increasing our customer base and partner channel since joining in 2015. Chris considers himself an ambassador for the IP Telecom brand by pushing awareness and creating leads at networking events such as BNI Nexus.

When Chris is not busy on the phones brokering the next big partnership, he enjoys a little horse riding on the weekends. As an avid Chelsea FC fan, he can be found shouting at the TV if he isn’t kicking a ball himself!

Eloy is a Technical Support Specialist, responsible for helping customers with any software or hardware issues they might face on a daily basis. After finishing his degree in Venezuela and moving to Europe, his first goal was to learn the language and to gain experience in his career. With multiple years’ experience in IP Telecom, he’s happy to be in a company where he can apply his knowledge to helping customers understand our technology. He loves going to the cinema and is excited about European travel.

Wendy is the Technical Training Manager for IP Telecom. By defining training requirements for our Partners on a case-by-case basis, she enables them to sell, implement and support IP Telecom's suite of applications.

Wendy conducts training sessions both onsite at our offices or customers/partners premises and online.

A South African native, Wendy has more than 20 years of experience in the Telecoms Industry across multiple territories. Moving to Ireland to be closer to her son and granddaughter, she brings a wealth of experience allowing partners and customers with effective, ongoing training to support their needs.
